Employment or Modern Slavery. Different perspectives on labour relations in Chinese ethnic niches and the impact of labour exploitation and human trafficking policy in the Netherlands and Romania

Abstract

This conference poster is a parody of traditional Chinese restaurant menu's in the Netherlands. The poster gives an outline with some preliminary findings of the author's PhD research on labour relations in Chinese ethnic niches and at the same time aims to confront the spectator with its own role in creating unfair labour conditions and exploitation in the Chinese restaurants as a consumer of (cheap) Chinese food.
